Interior Carpenter (Tischler)
Interior carpentry for Germany-based fit-out projects: measuring, fitting, installing, finishing, and coordinating with other trades. The page describes typical requirements, onboarding logic, and compliance expectations for English-speaking candidates on project teams.
The date refreshes automatically every Monday morning. (Time is intentionally not displayed.)
Minimum pay floor (gross)
From 01 January 2026, Germany’s statutory minimum wage is €13.90 gross per hour. Some posted-worker sectors can have higher wage floors depending on the project category.
- All pay references on this page are gross (brutto).
- Final pay depends on experience, duties, and the project framework.
- We do not advertise “below-minimum” roles — compliance is non-negotiable.
Candidate profile that gets shortlisted
- Hands-on interior fit-out experience: installation, adjustments, finishing.
- Confident measuring & marking; works to tolerance; respects sequence.
- Owns workmanship: clean joints, consistent alignment, predictable outcomes.
- Understands site rhythm: coordination with drywall, MEP, painters, flooring.
A concise project list (where / when / what exactly you installed) improves screening speed.
Interior carpentry on German sites
This role is typically assessed by how you measure, fit, and finish under time pressure — not by “years on paper”.
Quality checkpoints (what supervisors notice first):
- Accurate layout, clean cuts, stable fastening.
- Edges, joints, gaps: visually consistent and measurable.
- Protected finished surfaces; no avoidable damage.
What you will do (role-specific)
- Read drawings or site instructions; plan installation sequence and tolerances.
- Measure, cut, assemble and install interior elements (fit-out / joinery / fittings).
- Align, level, fix and finish surfaces; correct misfits without damaging finishes.
- Coordinate handovers with other trades to avoid rework and delays.
- Keep tools maintained; keep the work area clean; protect finished areas.
- Follow German site safety rules (PPE, inductions, access rules, permits).
Typical tasks you should mention in your CV
| Task area | What “good” looks like |
|---|---|
| Fit-out installation | Stable mounting, correct alignment, clean interfaces to walls/floors/ceilings, minimal punch-list items. |
| Finishing & adjustments | Consistent gaps, smooth edges, clean corners, protection of visible surfaces. |
| Coordination | Clear communication with foreman; readiness to adjust sequence based on other trades. |
| Safety discipline | PPE always, tidy cables, safe cutting stations, no shortcuts around guarding/locks. |

Language & communication
- English for onboarding and daily coordination is required.

Non-negotiables

- Safety-first behavior and readiness for German site discipline.
- Reliable availability and predictable attendance (projects penalize instability).
How projects commonly work (no external links)
Many Germany-based assignments are executed through a Polish company model (employment in Poland with posting/assignment to Germany). This structure typically combines Polish HR administration with strict compliance to mandatory German rules that apply on-site.
- Employment & payroll: contract and HR administration via a Polish entity; salary paid on documented time records; payslips provided.
- Social security logic: where applicable, posting documentation (e.g., A1) is used for compliant coverage while working in Germany.
- German mandatory standards: minimum wage floors, working time protections, and health & safety rules must be respected on the German site.
- Practical support: project coordinator contact, onboarding instructions, and site access process (induction, PPE rules, reporting lines).
- Accommodation & travel: conditions depend on the project; if provided, standards and rules are communicated before start.
This section is informational and not legal advice. The exact pathway depends on nationality, documents, project sector, and client requirements.
Reality check: Germany requires a legal route
Language is not the only filter. Non-EU candidates usually need an appropriate residence/work pathway. Skilled profiles have more realistic options; entry-level profiles are typically more difficult.
Routes that can be relevant (case-by-case)
- Skilled worker route (§18a): more realistic if your vocational qualification can be recognized (Anerkennung) and your profile matches the role.
- Western Balkans Regulation: applies only to citizens of six Western Balkan countries, subject to current rules/quotas.
- Other pathways: depend on sector, role level, and authority practice; always assessed individually.

Final eligibility depends on nationality, documents, employer role, and authority decisions. We only proceed when a compliant route exists.
Prepare these before applying

- Passport scan + your current location (country/city)
- Certificates/licenses (if relevant)
- Short project log: locations, dates, tasks, tools used
- Optional: photos of finished work (only if allowed and non-confidential)
Clear documentation reduces verification time and increases response quality.
