SaaS Products and White-Label Platforms

We build subscription products and multi-tenant platforms, from a first SaaS MVP to tools a company sells to its own customers or offers to partners under their brand. Before quoting, we write down the customer, role, data and billing model, then choose the smallest version that can prove the business case.

What this category covers and who it is for

SaaS is software delivered through a browser or app on a subscription basis. One running system serves many companies, and each of them sees only its own data, users and settings. It covers two kinds of projects with shared foundations.

  • A product to sell. A founder or company wants recurring revenue from subscriptions, licences or partner fees. What matters is time to market, self-service onboarding and running costs that grow slower than revenue.
  • A tool shaped around your process. You already run support tickets, appointments or timesheets, but off-the-shelf apps force workarounds, side spreadsheets or per-seat fees. Built on a SaaS architecture, it can later serve subsidiaries, franchisees or customers.

If a popular service already handles your process well, we will say so: configuring it and adding one integration may beat a new system.

Pick the service closest to your goal

Each service has its own scope, modules and price floor. Choose the one describing your main workflow; everything else becomes a module or integration.

SaaS MVP – from $8,900

The first paid version of a product: organisation sign-up, team invitations, one complete workflow, subscription plans and a support console. For founders testing willingness to pay before building the full platform. SaaS MVP scope

White-label platforms – from $7,900

One product core, many brands: logos, colours, custom domains, features switched on per partner and upgrades without forking the code. For agencies, platform owners and domain specialists. White-label software

Project management – from $4,900

Project templates, phases with approvals, task dependencies, a client portal and portfolio reporting, for teams whose way of working does not fit a generic task board. Project management software

Time tracking – from $4,900

Timers, timesheets, manager approval, period locking and exports to payroll or invoicing. For professional-services firms, project teams and field staff. Time tracking software

Scheduling and booking – from $4,900

Availability of people, rooms and equipment, online booking, deposits, waitlists and reminders. For clinics, schools, rental businesses and multi-location operators. Booking software

Helpdesk and ticketing – from $4,900

Tickets from email and forms, queues, business-hours SLAs, escalation, a knowledge base and a customer portal. For support teams, service departments and internal service desks. Helpdesk software

Search and comparison – from $8,900

Data imported from many sources, faceted filters, comparison tables, alerts and transparent ranking rules. For publishers and platforms building a vertical search product. Search and comparison platforms

Off-the-shelf subscription or your own system

Building your own product should follow from the numbers, not ambition. During discovery we compare licence fees, workaround costs and maintenance over a several-year horizon.

Your own system makes sense when

  • the process is a competitive advantage and you do not want to bend it to someone else's product;
  • per-seat fees grow faster than the value the tool delivers;
  • you need integrations the vendor does not offer, or offers only on an expensive tier;
  • you plan to sell the tool or give it to partners under their own brand;
  • your customers require a specific data location, their own SSO or a full change history.

An existing tool is enough when

  • the process is standard and the team is small;
  • there is no budget for maintenance and development after launch;
  • only one feature is missing and a small integration can cover it.

Technical foundations every SaaS product needs

We settle these decisions early, because changing them after the first customers arrive is expensive.

Tenancy model

Most often a shared database with an organisation identifier on every record and row-level protection (for example PostgreSQL row-level security). Customers needing stronger isolation can get a separate schema or database. The choice affects hosting cost, migrations, backups and enterprise deals.

Identity and permissions

Password login with MFA, email magic links, Google and Microsoft sign-in, and SAML or OpenID Connect SSO for enterprise customers. Roles are defined per organisation and per object, and account recovery is designed so it cannot become a takeover route.

Subscriptions and billing

Plans, trials, seat or usage limits, failed-payment handling and invoices, using providers such as Stripe, Paddle (as merchant of record handling sales tax) or PayU and Przelewy24 for the Polish market. Provider fees sit outside our quote.

Administration and observability

A back-office, audit log, controlled support access to customer accounts, error and performance monitoring, tested backup restores and per-organisation data export.

Technology options

We choose the stack to match your team's skills, existing systems and hiring plans rather than fashion. Typical options:

  • frontend: React with Next.js or Vue with Nuxt, with a component library ready for white-labelling;
  • backend: Node.js (for example NestJS), .NET, Python (Django, FastAPI) or PHP (Laravel);
  • data: PostgreSQL as the main database, Redis for queues and caching, a dedicated search engine where needed;
  • infrastructure: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud or a European provider with an EU region when customers require it; containers, CI/CD and infrastructure as code;
  • mobile: React Native or Flutter when the product needs apps, as described on our mobile app development page.

We usually recommend starting with a modular monolith: one application with clearly separated modules. Services are split out only when load or team structure justifies it.

Security, GDPR and enterprise buyer requirements

A B2B SaaS vendor usually acts as a processor of its customers' personal data under GDPR. That means a data processing agreement, a sub-processor list, a procedure for data subject requests, and rules for retention and deletion when a contract ends. We design the system so these duties are technically possible: organisation-level export and deletion, access logs, encryption in transit and in backups.

Application security is checked against OWASP guidance. Enterprise customers often send security questionnaires or ask about ISO 27001 and SOC 2. Certification is an organisational process on your side, but sound architecture and documentation make it much easier. We do not give legal advice; your adviser confirms the requirements.

How we work and what drives the budget

  1. Discovery and specification ($490–$1,500): users, roles, data model, integrations, non-functional requirements and exclusions.
  2. UX design of key screens and the first-run experience.
  3. Iterative build with regular demos on staging.
  4. Testing and acceptance against criteria written into the specification.
  5. Launch with monitoring, backups and a rollback plan.
  6. Maintenance and development from $249/month, or dedicated capacity from $6,500/month.

Proposals come in three options, Essential, Recommended and Scale, as fixed scope after discovery, time and materials, dedicated capacity or a licence for a reusable white-label core. Third-party APIs, licences, cloud usage, SMS and email volume and taxes are excluded unless stated. See our software development pricing for details.

MaViAl is a software company based in Wrocław, working with clients in the EU, UK, USA, Canada and Poland in English, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian. Proposals can be issued in USD, EUR or GBP. Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to build a SaaS application?

Tools focused on one workflow, such as helpdesk or booking software, start from $4,900, and an MVP of a SaaS product for sale starts from $8,900. Discovery and specification cost $490–$1,500. A binding price is given only after the written technical specification.

How long does a first version take?

A focused first release usually takes from several weeks to a few months. Duration depends on the number of roles, integrations and screens, data readiness, decision speed on the client side and security requirements. The schedule is part of the written proposal.

Can several services be combined, for example booking and helpdesk?

Yes. The specification names one core product and describes the second capability as a module or integration. That keeps ownership, acceptance criteria and sequencing clear.

Can you take over an existing SaaS codebase?

Yes, after reviewing the code, dependencies, deployment process, data and access model. The review shows what is worth keeping, what needs fixing and which risks must be removed before further development.

Who owns the source code?

Ownership of code, reusable components and third-party licences is set out in the contract. Options include a full transfer of code rights or a licence for a reusable core when that is cheaper and sufficient.

Where will the system be hosted?

We recommend that cloud accounts and domains belong to the client, with working access granted to us. Infrastructure can run in an EU region when your customers or regulators require it. The cloud provider bills you directly.
