Where to apply for a Polish work visa D: consulates by country

The rule: legal residence decides

A consul accepts applications from people legally living in the consular district and asks for proof. So an Uzbek citizen with the right to live in Kazakhstan applies in Astana or Almaty, depending on the region, not in Tashkent.

How to find your post

1. Pin down the country and region where you legally live and can prove it.
2. Find it in the tables below and open the post's gov.pl page: that page decides, not forums or agents.
3. Check the booking channel (e-Konsulat, usually the “Wiza krajowa – praca” path, or a visa centre) and the day slots are drawn.
4. Before registering, have your Polish document ready: a work permit (zezwolenie na pracę) or, for citizens of Armenia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine, a registered oświadczenie. Its details go into the pre-form.
5. Complete the full form within 48 hours or the registration lapses. File in person; posts reject applications sent by post or email.

Belarus: Minsk, Brest, Grodno and VFS centres

Belarus has three consular districts; applications are filed at VFS Global visa centres (PPWW). Pick a centre in your own district, not wherever a slot is free.

• No centre in Vitebsk oblast. People from Vitebsk, Orsha or Polotsk belong to the Minsk district and file in Minsk, Gomel or Mogilev.
• Waiting list since 8 June 2026. VFS no longer releases slots weekly but runs a waiting list. Open the booking site (visa.vfsglobal.by) only via the embassy's link; details are in the embassy notice.
• Fees. Belarusian citizens applying in Belarus pay 60 EUR instead of 200 EUR until 31 December 2026, in Belarusian roubles at the centre, plus the VFS service fee (equivalent of 18 EUR). If your category may file directly at a post, you pay at Priorbank (Minsk, Brest) or at the consulate (Grodno).
• Brest. The Consulate General is on the 2026 list of posts; before booking, check the embassy's notices for any change in how it accepts applications.

Moldova and Ukraine

In Moldova only the embassy in Chisinau accepts applications, including from Bălți, Cahul or Comrat. It does not work with intermediaries, and Moldovans pay the full fee.

Ukrainian citizens pay no fee for a national visa. The posts in Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Kharkiv and Odesa do not handle visas; which of the other two covers your oblast is shown on the visa page linked above.

Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan

Across the region you register in e-Konsulat and file in person.

Karaganda, Kostanay and Pavlodar belong to the Astana district, not to Almaty. Posts in Kazakhstan ask for an egov.kz profile screenshot and a property deed or lease as proof of residence. In Tashkent, registrations that are not drawn are cancelled and you must register again.

Caucasus: Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan

Georgia in 2026. Since 15 August, Georgian citizens need a visa to enter Poland for work, even for stays under 90 days, and since 22 August they cannot work on a permit during a visa-free stay. The oświadczenie route closed to them on 1 December 2025, so their visa is based on a work permit. Tbilisi requires an apostilled criminal-record certificate for work visas.

Armenian citizens can still work on an oświadczenie.

Asia, Turkey, Africa and Latin America

New Delhi accepts applications from 6 months to 15 days before travel. Since 15 August 2026, Colombians, like Georgians, need a visa to work even for a short stay.

Visa centres, video verification and fees

A visa centre is not a consulate

VFS Global (Belarus, Turkey, India), BLS (Philippines) and TLScontact (Lviv) take documents and a service fee, but the consul decides. Tashkent, Hanoi, Cairo, Abuja and Chisinau work with no intermediaries at all.

Video verification

Since April 2026 some e-Konsulat posts offer paid video verification: an external provider checks your identity and passport live. It costs 7 EUR + VAT (9.05 EUR in Yerevan), is optional and gives priority in automatic slot allocation, but does not affect the decision. We confirmed it in Abuja, Tashkent (notice), Yerevan, Doha and Pretoria.

The fee is not refunded after a refusal.

Common mistakes

• Choosing a post by free slots. An application from outside your district of residence may be rejected.
• Buying “slots”. Slots are drawn or allocated by the system; the only booking priority an applicant can obtain is official video verification. The Minsk embassy ignores emails it identifies as sent by intermediaries. Never share your e-Konsulat or VFS login.
• No Polish document, or the wrong visa. Without a work permit or oświadczenie you cannot complete the pre-form, and a tourist (01) or visiting (02) visa does not allow work.
