Five service points: Poznań and four branches
The Greater Poland voivode handles cases for everyone living in the region, from Piła down to Ostrów Wielkopolski. On the contact page of the migrant.poznan.uw.gov.pl portal, the office lists its Poznań seat and four branches that each run an Oddział Spraw Cudzoziemców (foreigners' unit).

If you work in Leszno or study in Kalisz, some visits may happen closer to home. The office does not publish which MOS-case steps each branch performs, though, so take the place of attendance from your summons, not from a map.
pl. Wolności 17 day to day: halls, hours, Mondays
Service in Poznań is split between Hall A, Hall B and BOD desks 13–14. Your summons or visit confirmation usually shows where to go; if it doesn't, ask the infoline the day before rather than at the door.
- Monday 9:30–18:00 is the only day with late hours. If you work shifts, keep that in mind whenever the office lets you choose a date.
- Tuesday–Friday 8:15–15:15: the halls close early, so avoid planning your visit for the last hour.
- Infoline 61 850 87 77 stops at 16:00 on Mondays. After 16:00 you can still walk in, but you will not get through by phone.
Online booking and the case-status page
WUW runs two tools that people often mix up.
Booking: poznan.uw.gov.pl/rejestracja
The booking system lists the services you can reserve, separately for Poznań and the branches. Since 27 April 2026 the office summons you itself, at least 7 days ahead, to give fingerprints and a signature specimen and to show your passport in a MOS case. Before booking anything “just in case”, read the service name: a booking does not replace a summons.

The cudzoziemcy-stan page shows which stage your proceedings have reached. It is most useful once you have the UPO and the certificate of filing. It does not deliver decisions: those arrive by post or e-Doręczenia, and the 14 days for an appeal run from the day you receive one.
Your WUW case from bank transfer to card pickup
- Pay before you submit. Stamp duty (opłata skarbowa) goes to Poznań City Hall, the card fee to WUW. Attach both confirmations as files in MOS.
- Application in MOS. You log in via login.gov.pl and sign yourself. A Poznań employer or university receives a MOS link to its attachment, valid for 30 days; without its signature the application cannot be sent.
- UPO at once, certificate later. Once an officer has checked the application, you download the zaświadczenie (certificate of filing) from MOS. It replaces the old passport stamp.
- Summons. A letter gives the place (Poznań or a branch) and the date. Bring your original passport and whatever was requested. You get at least 14 days to supply documents (which documents).
- Decision and card. After a positive decision you are told the card is ready. Where you collect it comes from that notice; don't assume it is the same place where you gave fingerprints.
Failing to attend a summons without good reason ends in discontinuation (umorzenie) of the proceedings. If the date is impossible for you, call before the visit.
Where to pay: Poznań City Hall and the WUW account
- Stamp duty (340 zł for most temporary residence permits, 440 zł for residence and work, 640 zł for permanent residence and EU long-term resident): Urząd Miasta Poznania, Wydział Finansowy, 94 1020 4027 0000 1602 1262 0763.
- Residence card (100 zł): Wielkopolski Urząd Wojewódzki, 70 1010 1469 0000 3922 3100 0000.
The WUW fee page states plainly that the card costs 50 zł if you are under 16, a school pupil or a student. That is common for study-based applications at Poznań universities, so attach proof of your status.
WUW has published two notices worth reading: on fees for MOS filings (30.04.2026) and on the change to stamp-duty refunds. For applications filed from 5 March 2026, stamp duty is not refunded after a refusal or discontinuation. Check the account numbers on the WUW page right before you transfer.
How long the Greater Poland voivode takes
WUW publishes no average processing times. The statute gives 60 days for temporary residence, but under art. 100d of the act on assistance to Ukrainian citizens (extended by Dz.U. 2026 poz. 203) these time limits do not run for any foreigner until 4 March 2027. A ponaglenie (formal reminder) sent before then will not force the office to hurry. What you control: file a complete application no later than the last day of your legal stay and answer letters quickly. Your stay then remains legal until the final decision. More: processing time.

Frequently asked questions
I live in Ostrów Wielkopolski. Will I be summoned to Kalisz or to Poznań?
Kalisz has a foreigners' unit and is the closest, but WUW does not publish which counties go to which branch. The place in your summons is binding; if travel is a problem, ask the infoline on 61 850 87 77.
The cudzoziemcy-stan page doesn't show my case. What now?
First make sure you have the UPO and that the office has verified your application, since only then is the case fully registered. If nothing shows even after you have downloaded the certificate, call the WUW infoline during its hours.
Can I book my fingerprint appointment through poznan.uw.gov.pl/rejestracja?
For MOS applications, the office sets the fingerprint and passport appointment in a summons. The booking system covers the services listed in it, so read their names before you reserve.
I study at a Poznań university. How much is the card?
WUW's fee page lists 50 zł for students, pupils and children under 16. Stamp duty for a study-based permit is 340 zł and goes to Poznań City Hall.
Does stamp duty go to WUW or to the city?
Stamp duty goes to Urząd Miasta Poznania, Wydział Finansowy; the 100 zł or 50 zł card fee goes to the WUW account. They are two separate transfers, both made before you submit in MOS.
I can't make my appointment at a branch. Can I move it?
Contact the office before the date and explain why. Unexcused absence leads to discontinuation, and for applications filed from 5 March 2026 the stamp duty is not refunded.
Will I see the decision on the status page?
The page shows the stage, but WUW delivers the decision itself by post or e-Doręczenia. The appeal deadline counts from the day of delivery.

Foreigners are served at pl. Wolności in Poznań and at the Kalisz, Konin, Leszno and Piła branches. Your summons decides where you go, and the status page shows how far your case has got.
